Are you kidding me! Van Dyks rocks!!! That is REAL ice cream not that blended stuff from Maggie Moos! We are going to have a taste contest! Especially Van Dyks winter flavors….their Apple pie ice cream really tastes like apple pie, and the cinnamin caramel is scrumptious!
Jayme – I can hear the passion in your voice. You are entitled to your opinion but I think Van Dykes would go down to Maggie Moo’s in a head to head taste test.
When it comes to commuting, the easy access to the city by bus and train is a big reason for many of us to have moved here. Having moved into the area from Brooklyn, where we always made use of the subway, it was important to have a quick alternative to the car for going to work (and play!) in NYC.
Costa – Exactly. That is definitely one of the great things about this area. I didn’t know you were from Brooklyn.

cool thanks for writing this
This is helpful, but I am still wondering: what’s the best way to get back from Manhattan into Ridgewood after 2 a.m. (without taking a cab)? Is it possible to take public transportation?
Hi,
Could you tell me where we can park near the Ridgewood Train Station if we are not Ridgewood residents? We are staying in Paramus and want to ride the train in to Manhattan, spend the day there, then come back by train to Ridgewood.
Any idea about where we can park all day in Ridgewood? A parking garage perhaps?
Thanks,
Cynthia
