The English Tudor

Example of Classic Ridgewood Tudor – 191 W. End Avenue
Tudor style homes can be found throughout Ridgewood but are most commonly found on the Westside and in the Old Country Club section of Ridgewood. Tudor homes typically have large stone chimneys, half-timberings, thick walls, leaded windows and steep roofs.
The knock on Ridgewood Tudors, if there is one, has been that they can be a bit dark inside. However, over the years, many Ridgewood Residents have renovated the older Tudors, opened up the floor plan and added larger windows and skylights to brighten up the interior. The home above is an example of a Ridgewood Tudor that was renovated to create light and space without compromising the classic Tudor style.
This home is currently listed for $1,450,000. Click here for more information about 191 W. End Avenue and click here for more information on Tudor Architecture.

Looks great…I’m looking forward to seeing more Ridgewood homes!
Thanks for your note. There are plenty of beautiful homes to see in Ridgewood.
Wonderful site, though not a home buyer I grew up in Ridgewood – Beechwood Road and my grandfather lived at 310 Manor Road so I know the Old Country Club area very well indeed.
Robert – Thank you very much. Both Beechwood and Manor are beautiful streets in Ridgewood. Thanks for stopping by our Blog.

Al, thanks for the reply. Although I remain a New City, NY resident, I am an independent computer consultant, and one of my clients is the ancient Hermitage of Ho Ho Kus where I am the defacto Network Administrator. Ridgewood remains a beautiful town both in memory and in fact. Graduate of RHS in 1973.
Have you ever seen what a tudor building looks like? It is completely rediculous to suggest this monstrosity looks english or tudor!
In NY, is it possible to have my first (and only) mortgage (a HELOC) discharged in a bankruptcy ?
