New Home Sales Gained for the Fourth Straight Month and Existing Home Sales Fared Even Better

Existing single family home sales were up 7.2% in July, compared with June and up 5% from July of ‘08.  This is the largest  gain for existing home sales, a number tracked by the National Association of Realtors, since 1999.  Also for the first time in five years, new home sales have increased for four months in a row.

The national home inventory level is down to an average of 7.5 months and experts say homes have not been this affordable in a generation.

These upbeat reports may be the sign everyone has been waiting for.  It may be time to make a move on that Ridgewood Home you have been coveting – before the market spikes again – as we all know it eventually will.
